The Topeka Rescue Mission will be providing information on their current local needs one of which is furniture. Discovery Furniture & RoomMakers would like to team up with you to help fulfill this need.

Other than giving away $16,000 of furniture to showcase the event, Discovery & RoomMakers will be having a silent auction/raffle along with a bake sale table to raise money for an employee who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. We will also be donating all proceeds from the dinner we are serving on the 9th, 10th, & 11th (more information to come.)

 

The American Cancer Society & The Relay For Life will be sharing information on how to reduce your risk of developing cancer, as well as how to find it early and treat it successfully. They offer free programs and services for cancer patients ranging from transportation to nutritional supplements to support groups. They will be setting up several family friendly games where you can win GREAT prizes! Please come help support this great cause!

Berry Tractor has graciously offered to sponsor our event and will be showcasing new equipment as well as handing out FREE stuff to event participants!

The YWCA Battered Women Task Force serves victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. They will be setting up a booth to spread the word about their services and current needs. This is a much needed program in our community, please come show your support!

Capital City Nissan is going to be showcasing new Nissan models and has graciously offered to give away FREE oil changes to event participants!

Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene will be selling $10 tickets (donation) for the Jaci Velasquez concert Easter Sunday, April 12. At 28 years of age, Jaci Velasquez is one of the world’s most successful and beloved Christian/Latin/pop singers. Please come support the Wanamaker Woods Church in welcoming Jaci Velasquez.

Flint Hills BBQ will be providing lunch on Saturday April 11th from 11:00 AM-2:30 P. M to event participants.

The Alzheimer's Association will be raising funds for their memory walk by selling Subway cookies, Alzheimer's Association wristbands, and flags. Come help support this great organization and honor your loved one with a Tribute Flag at the Memory Walk.

Kacia Ross with One With Earth Salon has graciously donated a FREE hair cut for our silent auction.

St. Marys Academy

St. Marys Academy will be setting up a booth to raise money for their school Jog-A-Thon. They will be selling candles and baked goods with 100% of the proceeds going towards their Jog-A-Thon event.

Beading Hearts has graciously donated a necklace, bracelet & earrings set as well as a collection of 3 earrings for our silent auction. Thea will be also be setting up a booth to showcase her newest jewelry designs. Please come and support this talented local artist!

Camp Courage USA is a traditional camp that offers new and traditional activities combined with character building, leadership training and tons of fun. Camp creator Ronnie Hayes as well as the camp's advisors who reside in Topeka share a great passion for youth ministry. Camp Courage welcomes kids ages 8-14. Normal enrollment is $345.00 ($50 deposit). If you sign up Friday or Saturday enrollment is only $299.00 ($50 deposit.) Donations for scholarships for campers and sponsorships for volunteers are welcome and appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.

Bridget Hoover a local high school senior will be setting up a raffle and donation booth to raise money for the Foundation For Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types. Bridget has a sibling with this rare skin disease. Please come help support her in raising awareness and funds for this organization.

TK Magazine will be providing a FREE April issue to event participants and will feature the results of the event in the May Issue.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 604 will be partnering to raise funds for the many services they provide to our community. Some of which include: organizing the annual memorial day service at the Topeka Cemetery and maintaining the Vietnam Memorial at Garfield Park and the Topeka Cemetery. Celebrating Faith, Family, & Community In NE Kansas

The Metro Newspaper will be featuring the Thank You Kansas Event in the April Issue.

Bill and Judy Pfeifer are lifetime member Associates of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 604. They have "adopted" the two Geropsychiatric wards at the Topeka VA hospital. They provide among other things monthly birthday celebrations for the vets as well as decorations, refreshments, and Christmas gifts at Christmas time. They will be participating at the Thank You Kansas event to raise money for their many activities. Please come help support this wonderfully giving couple!

The Topeka Fire Department will be giving tours of equipment as well as providing fire safety information to event participants.

Washburn University

Student Government Association is raising funds for The Pennies For Peace campaign. This campaign brings educational opprotunities to children in Pakistan and Afghanistan. For more information, visit www.penniesforpeace.org.

Subway will be participating by donating cookies to the Alzheimer's Association booth to help them raise money for their upcoming Memory Walk.

Alternatives Senior and Youth Group. Owner Charlene Burns is starting a ministry group out of her home and is in need of dvd's board games and karaoke supplies. She will be here Friday evening requesting help from the community.

Girl Scouts of Topeka & NE Kansas will be setting up a craft table for event participants. They will also be selling cookies and other products to raise money for their organization.

The Jayhawk Area Agency On Aging located in Topeka will be setting up a booth to give out information regarding the resources and services they offer senior citizens in our community.

Disabled American Veterans

The DAV is partnering with the Community to raise funds for the services they offer for veterans at the VA medical Center. Among other things the DAV chapter #3 serves doughnuts every Tuesday morning and sponsors bingo twice a month. They will also be providing information to veterans in need of help because of their disabilities.

The Libertarian Party of Kansas

Let’s Help, Inc. is committed to working with individuals and families so that the cycle of poverty is broken and self-sufficiency is attained. Our booth will provide information and spread the word about services and current needs of the agency.

Mary Kay representative Patricia Wilson will be participating in our event by handing out hand creams and other Mary Kay products to event participants. She will also be offering FREE Makeovers.
 

City Of Topeka Parks & Recreation has graciously donated the band shell to be used for event entertainment. We appreciate all the work they do for the community and for helping us with this event. Thank You!

   

The Mr. Goodcents Company and the staff at the Wanamaker location are graciously donating party trays and combo meal gift certificates to Discovery Inc. employees for their raffle as well as to American Cancer Society. The Mr. Goodcents mascot will also be joining us along with the Mr. Goodcents FJ Cruiser show car. They will also be providing food on Saturday.

   

   

Sonny Heller owner of Music Box mobile entertainment company has graciously donated his services for our event. The "Music Box" was established in 1973 by an experienced musician. His enjoyment and knowledge of entertaining and music have developed the "Music Box" into the most reputable mobile disc jockey entertainment service in Northeastern Kansas.

    Martha McCall of Belle Avenue Scents will be bringing her locally made, hand poured soy candles to sell. She will also be having a drawing for FREE candle giveaways.
   

Arbonne International consultant Debbie Fassbender will have a table where she will be showcasing some of Arbonne's botanically based products. She will also be giving free sea salt hand scrubs and doing a drawing for a free detox spa party.

   

TCW Top City Wear

TCW founders are very thankful for everything they have experienced while growing up in Topeka, Kansas. TCW feels it is time to change the way people feel about Topeka and start making it the place to be. TCW has developed a shirt line that will represent the capital city, but will be worn from the east to the west coast. Canine Control Underground Fencing

Canine Control PetSafe Pro has been giving pets the freedom they deserve to explore, while being contained in the safety of their yard since 1996. Canine Control will be donating $50.00 to Helping Hands Humane Society for each fence installed as a result of the Thank You Kansas event.

 

   

Matthew's Hobby Radio Entertainment Productions

Topeka resident Matthew Harris will be setting up a booth on Saturday to raise money for his business. Matthew desires to give back to the community through his DJ programs. He hopes to set up 24 hour radio stations in Veterans hospitals and other medical facilities around the country. He plans to do this be creating a web site that will stream a live 24 hour feed of music to each facility. He needs the communities help to raise money for his needed equipment.

   

Coleman Nursery & Tree Farm

Coleman Nursery will be selling the latest of their spring flower, vegetables, and shrubs. They will also be bringing hand made wooden pens & puzzles. 10% of their proceeds will be donated to NEK-CAP. Please come help support this great local nursery and their charity.

The Sunflower Lions of Topeka will be handing out information on diabetes as well as handing out free yellow dot kits to event participants.

Bonnie Prescott, a local tupperware representative will be setting up on Saturday to showcase the newest of Tupperware. She is also donating part of her profits to charity.

   

Country Greenhouse

Will be setting up a booth on Saturday with a good selection of spring bedding plants and hanging baskets. They will have vegetable and flower plants and other spring gardening needs. They also offer small gift planters. They will be giving away free flyers on gardening and what to grow and how to get started. They will also be donating pansys for the DF/RM employee raffle.
